Hi all, I have a couple older testers but no instruction manuals. Please see pics. Hoping someone on this forum can help me out. Trying to figure out if they are working properly. All of the following comes from multiple tests with all three meters using multiple caps.
The Scientific Devices meter ( the one with LED readout) has a six position switch, none of the markings are readable with certainty, lowest appears to be 100pf. It consistently gives readings of several hundreds over the cap rating.
The Newcason XC6013L works correctly, giving repeatable readings (+/- a few percent) across multiple cap tests. When testing known bad caps (exploded tops) readings vary greatly which I would look for in unknown caps, and found occasionally.
The Creative Electronics ESR meter, (The analog meter) almost always(99% of tests) give a reading of 4 ohms. The 1% would fail when tested on the Newcason.
Hoping someone has instruction manuals on the older meters or can tell me if they are working correctly.
Thanx
