other than "memtest86+" i dont know of any pc diagnostic software anymore.
testing GPU's and harddrives is of course a seperate thing.

one thing, if the laptop has a switch on the board to detect the ram cover open - make sure you hold it down
i discovered this on some lenovo stuff

Dont have Lunix im on windows buddy but thanks anyway good to know are there any special settings i use for the T48 programmer to copy & wright a bios file or will default settings be ok

Yes i binned the alligator clips and got adapters and a T48 programmer great bit of kit ive programmed a W25Q64FVSSIG bios chip not fitted it yet but fingers crossed

lotas is right about the clips. If you work with the BIOS often or not, better have the adapters. I bought the adapters cost less than $10 each and some are selling less than $5. The pins do not have enough space to use alligator clips.

Yes, maybe CH341A can do it too with the program "NeoProgrammer V2.2.0.10".
