    Capacitance meter

    Hi,
I'd like to order a capacitance meter but there are so many to chose from and also price variations so I though i'd ask the experts.
Here is what an ebay search brought:

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...at=0&_from=R40

Of course i want something inexpensive that can do the work, I'm planning to use it for troubleshooting different types of capacitors both THT and SMT.

I have a cheap digital mm, capwizard esr meter and soon will add more to the tools bin.

    Thanks

    Re: Capacitance meter

    Hello Beowulf,

First off welcome to the forum. I have this meter and have had good luck with it. This seller is even in the USA. When I bought mine it was through a Chinese/HK seller. Check it out and decide for yourself.

Take Care & Happy New Year,
    lcdman

What digital multimeter do you have? Instead of buying a meter to read capacitance, you may considering getting a 2nd multimeter that can read capacitance?

You can get digital multimeters that have an analog bar graph that simulates the movement of an analog multimeter.

retired caps and lcdman, thanks to both for you replies.
The meter I have is a centech, away from the shop so not sure of the model number. It does has a capacitance reading options but rather limiting to 3 different ranges.

        That CV6013 meter looks alright.
