    You can change the setting while it running however the changes do not take effect until you you stop and restart it again however you loose your data

    These two repairs where found with a ESR meter...> Temp at 50*F then at 90*F the ESR reading more than 10%

    1 Over Head Crane Current Sensing Board ( VFD Failure Five Years Later )
    2 Hem Saw Computer Stack Board

    All of these had CAPs POOF
    All of the mosfet that are taken out by bad caps

      Last night I set the cut off voltage to 3.99 volts @1 amp

      and went to sleep but I did check the voltage set point to see what it did once it reached the cutoff voltage and how did it behave

      Then this morning I set it to 4.15 volts @0.500 amps

      Letting it finish charging

      The results are below

      I am very pleased with the results of this product I do however a couple of comments

      First of all and the most important one

      When charging a battery for the first time I will be using my IMAX charger which has a temperature sensor sensor built into it hardware the EBC-A10H dose not have this capability to do this function

      Second of all

      The IMAX charger can not give you a useable range for a battery at 1 amp @ 3 volts discharge rate as can the EBC-A10H battery tester can do this

      You can set the current requirements of the device that you are making the battery pack for and see what kind-a results you might expect to get

      I have done some testing to see how this device behaves so far I have not seen anything yet that concern me

      One final thought about this product

      I would recommend this product to anyone who want to use BMS protection boards and want to use batteries that have the same charging and discharging rate curves to get the best results out of your batteries

      I can tell that I am not getting paid or got this product for free

      But when I find a product that does a lot of what it claims to do and does it it well I will give it a review


      On another note and related subject

      How I do testing on battery is going to change now that I have this tester

      I will be looking at the amount of time the batteries maintain the voltage and current before the voltage drop off curve starts when discharging a battery

      I will be looking at the amount of time the voltage and current before the current drop off starts while charging

      Try to match batteries as close as possible to the amount of time before each curve starts

      If anyone has anything else I should be looking for please add your comments below

        Here is the results of a LG 18650 ( 2 amp hour battery )

        The useable run time is until it reaches 3.4 volts @ 1 amp before it drops off dramatically

        This was charging the battery to 4.15 volts cutoff voltage

          Okay I had some more time to play with this unit

          There is a button that says monitor what this setting does is causes this charger to ack more like the IMAX charger with out the temperature sensor

          When you do not select this option it does not change the loading or charging current until the voltage drop curve takes place

          What I going to to talk about now is NOT in the manual

          You can plot the charging curve for a BMS protection controller boards but it not very easy
          You have to be very careful hooking up the volt meter leads so DO NOT hook them up backwards

          All of the information that I am giving here has to be done in the single testing mode ONLY

          Charging setup

          You choose the Lipo setting and choose number of cells
          Then select the cell that you want to check and hook up the meter leads only to that cell
          The amp leads go to the BMS protection Balancing board controller
          Then hit start

          Discharging setup is a little bit different
          You select DSC setting and hit start
          Your hook up leads for voltage and amperage are the same

          One note you can monitor the voltage and chart it but it not straight forward you can use a bench power supply to charge your battery BMS protection balancing board controller

          The most number of cells you can have on a BMS protection board controller test is ( 5 ) 22 volts max

          I found a YouTube video earlier today that shows you how you can also use this tester to check

          Power supply benchmark testing as well

            Well I had some extra money and bought another tester and now I am running a test where I am charging two batteries at the same exact time to use the feature that allows you put one result over another result and compare them

            This might be interesting to see how this looks and works

              One note

              You can not have the test results from two different batteries showing on the same screen when in the live mode while you are running the test

              It would be nice if the software was setup up that way but it not

              But you can go from one screen to another screen while you are running the test

              So far I think that this battery tester is well worth the cost of it

                This battery tester does not set your parameters automatically you have to set it up

                However you can save your parameters and reuse them later

                Well I will tell you a little story that happened to me yesterday

                It was a good thing that I had not left my house right way yesterday

                I was in a little bit of a hurry to set this up and getting ready to do something else

                Well I came back to the battery tester to see what the results are that have already happened

                I see that the current chart has wild swing curve and so does the voltage curve as well
                ( one note about this when the voltage goes back up to a certain voltage point it turns back on the load test again until you are below a certain voltage again and keep repeating it over and over again [ really] one interesting thing about this is that where it turns back on the load test again is where the current and voltage does a rapid curve drop off )

                I look at the parameter setting I forgot to set the voltage cutoff by default is set to ( 00.000 )

                By default the current set point is ( 0.050 )

                I had set the current one but forgot to set the voltage cutoff setting

                The battery that I had done this on I put it back on charge mode
                The voltage setting is 4.00
                The current setting is 0.050

                Waited until the battery voltage came back to above 2.5 volts

                Then changed the current setting to 0.100 until voltage was at 4.00 volts then changed the voltage to 4.200 volts

                I am still learning how this battery tester works and how the algorithm works on this battery tester

                So far I have not been disappointed with the results

                  This battery tester has made it a hole lot earlier to test battery and get batteries that are very close to each other in the discharge and charge curves

                  I have had a very steep learning curve with battery tester the manual covers the basic functions but does not go into very much details which is sad to a certain extent but it is not something that you can figure out and learn

                  I have a correction to make about a statement that I made earlier about taking one set of results and putting another set of results on top of each other is not correct you look at each set of results but not both of them together unless it is the 8 channel one that the manual is talking about that you can do this with

                  I have the 8 channel one on my wish list but this going to have to wait awhile before I can do this one

                    This battery tester is popular among electric car owners, you can imagine having a pack of 95 (i.e. Prius) so that is when they go to the 8-channel version.
