Vizio E370VT no longer turns on

Tv did work but next day it won't turn on with remote nor button on side. Amber standby light is on but does nothing when pushing the power button.
I don't see any bad caps and do have 5v standby (which I assumed since the standby light is on in the front.
What other voltages/items should I be checking?

I had one of these with a bad optoisolator. It would shut off when it got warm. Usually pretty quick. Location in your picture is top of board in middle. Just a thought.

Thanks for the response. Is the optoisolator the device that is below the 3 capacitors in the middle? I googled testing an optoisolator and it shows 4 pins that's why I ask: http://www.antimath.info/electro/how...n-optocoupler/

The optoisolators are the four pin IC's above the transformer.ead correctly they are IC906 and IC9x07 ????
Follow the checker divider between the hot and the cold side at the top. Second and third components down. Try freeze spray perhaps and see if it comes on.

So are you getting any commands signals for the main board feeding the power supply board when you activate the power switch?
The connector's pins are labeled so report the DCV reading of each pin of the connector that goes to the main board, make sure to put down the pin name follow by the DCV reading. We need to know what are missing.
You should also resolder those transformer legs and parts that are soldered to the through hole rivets on that power supply board.

When testing IC906 with 200k set on meter
Pin 1red/2black: starts in 50's and steadily increases
              Pin 1black/2red: nothing
              IC9302
When testing IC906 with 200k set on meter
Pin 1red/2black: starts in 50's and steadily increases
              Pin 1black/2red: nothing

              IC9302
              Pin 1red/2black: 3.3
              Pin 1/black/2red: 3.3

For pins 3 and 4 on both IC's, when testing both ways I get a large number in the hundreds steadily going up and past 200k

I should also add I re-soldered the transformer legs and other thru hole items on the board.

Any additional items to check? I'm stumped as to where to go from my tests and resoldering the transformer legs.

What DC voltage do you have across the two legs of the long capacitors?

EDIT: There's another long capacitor (not as long as the 3 grouped together) on the left of the board in the pic attached above, and I get 0.00 on my meter when testing that one.

I also noticed that on this TV when I plug in the power cord the power light is amber for a split second then turns to white. Previously I thought it was just always amber. I've tried pressing the power button on the side and it doesn't affect it.

What is the voltage written on the side of the capacitors

What is the number written on the 8 pin IC on the top of the board and on the 8 pin IC on the bottom of the board.

So the PS-ON (4.8 Vdc per your report) is present but the DCV on the main filter caps are only 170VDC, that means the PFC Voltage booster circuit is not working, the DCV on the filter caps should be >380 VDC when PS-ON is present.

                              The 3 long caps are 47uF 450v.

                              I'm not seeing 8 pin IC's. I see 3 4-pins (IC9102, IC9302 and IC908) and a 7-pin (IC9301) in the center of the board.

That's correct, 4.8....just checked again. Are there items to test in the PFC voltage booster circuit that can isolate issue and correct? Or am I looking at trying to find a replacement board?

The only 7-pin I see is in the middle of the board in the attached pic. It has printed on it:
                                    A6069H
                                    SK163
                                    24630D

The only other ICs I see are in the checkerboard pattern running across the upper third (left since pic rotated upon upload) of the board and they have 4 legs each. Can you point out which is the 8 pin you are wanting me to check please?

Using your meter set to DC volts, black lead on point "A" and red on point "B" what voltage do you read. It should be a minimum of 13.8V

Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

I have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...
