Samsung Syncmaster monitor 24" & 26" caps same?

Hi, I have a Samsung Suncmaster 2693hm monitor that is expressing black flickering for a minute on cold turn-on, and so I'm preparing the replace the caps in it and expecting that to resolve the issue.

Looking around online, I've found that there is much information regarding the replacing of caps for the 2493hm Syncmaster monitor, which is the same model but just 24" instead of 26".

For the 24" model, I've found a full listing of its caps, as well as a prepared capacitor replacement kit for the 24". The links for those things are these:

    http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php...4-lcd-monitor/

I haven't found the same information regarding the 26" model, but I wonder if its power board should require all the same caps as the 24" one, if it's the case that only the screen is a different size.

Is it likely that the two models will have the same power board components, and use the same cap values?

You should always check the component values yourself before ordering anything.
There can be component variations even in two identical model monitors, so it is very likely that you will have different parts in your monitor.
Also it may necessarely not be bad capacitors, could be something else. That is another reason why you should open up the monitor and inspect it before doing anything.

For some reason ccl-la blocks Finland so I can't access the site, but usually you can also save quite a bit by ordering the parts separately, ie. from digikey, rather than buying a kit.

Ok, I've now opened up the monitor.

I don't see visual damage on the power board or inverter board, and I haven't yet looked at the screen's components, which aren't immediately accessible.

Is it possible that a bad component will not show it on the outside, and should components other than capacitors initially be as suspect?

I would advise you to start a new thread in the troubleshooting computer display section AND put the model number and the problem in the title - Flickers on start up?
If you have not seen them, there are a few threads on this monitor if you search for 2693HM using "search" at the top of the page.
Post good clear pictures of your boards front and back and one of the whole set with the back off so we can see how they connect.will enable us to help you better.
It could be a cap problem but other problems could cause this. A first "test" would be to warm the capacitors with a hairdrier before you switch on and see if it helps.
If it does try warming different areas to find warming which board helps most.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Replacement caps for Samson Resolv studio monitor 65A Amp board.
            by black6host
            Good day!

I have a Samson Resolv studio monitor that has no sound output. I've opened it up and found two caps that are bulging on what I believe to be the power supply section of the amplifier board. The board is marked Resolv 65A AMP V1.2. The caps in question are YUSCON, 2200uF, 35V, 85C temp and have markings of RA(P) and are 16mm x 25.5mm tall. I've attached the schematic and the caps in question are C5 and C6. I'm assuming they are low esr caps. I've tested both caps and they test low uF, nowhere near 2200uF.

I'm going to replace the caps and I'll be the first...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Seasonic B12 BC-550 – barely 2 years old and with BAD CAPS already!
            by momaka
I know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.

For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

            Samsung Syncmaster 740BF repair
            by soopacrucial
            Hi folks,

I'm new here and was wondering whether you might be kind enough to give me some advice on troubleshooting the following problem:

Quite a few years ago now, a couple of years from new, my Samsung Syncmaster 740BF LCD monitor starting playing up by making a buzzing noise and then the display would go blank. I seem to remember the blue power led would also go off when this happened but that I'm not 100% sure of. By pressing the power button I do remember I could at first get it working again but eventually the problem would come back. At the time I had read about...
