Re: Help with Motor Control Board

I would look over the power supply board carefully as well. I fixed one of these for my parents several years back. The one large filter cap on the power board was bulging. It caused two diodes to burn up and also burnt out one of the windings on the mains transformer. There was no fuse to protect against this situation and the burning silicon smell in the house with no apparent source really freaked my mom out. Replace that cap or leave the unit unplugged when not in use.

You're welcome. It is very easy to make a mistake even if the board was in front on a person. That is why it is important for each of us to look over things. Usually when I make a mistake it is so obvious a monkey could caught it, but I get so sure that I am blind to it, so I just tell the person who caughts me I just screwed up. BudM, thanks for the information that you provide it sure helps me to understand things.

Mistakes? How about soldering the cap wires to the rectifier leg by mistake and giving you false meter reading expecting help, or checking things in diode mode when they should have been done in Ohm setting confusing everyone? I am glad you have all hung in to continue to help me and not just throw your hands up and move onto another forum question.

BTW, you should check and see what pin 2 (input pin) of the MOSFET driver IC TC1410 goes to.

As far as I can see pin 2 is connected to pin 3 and the orange 3 prong capacitor?

"As far as I can see pin 2 is connected to pin 3 and the orange 3 prong capacitor?" I think you look at the pins wrong, the dimple at the bottom left of the IC is pin 1 (make sure you put the new IC in correctly).
I see pin 2 is connected to the SMD resistor with '285' printed on top, another end of the resistor is connected to pin 4 which is the Ground pin of the IC.

Re: Help with Motor Control Board

Ok so the dimple is pin one, I was going off the data sheet that showed pin 1 diadonally on opposite corner by the way the numbers were on the chip, I see now a black dot I guess represents the dimple. Again another learning mistake by me.

Yea pin 2 goes to 562 chip and under C5 to R19

That 562 chip is a resistor that is 5.6 KOhms that is a SMD( surface mount device), just for reference purposes.

Thanks for the last info, nice to learn as much as possible. Can someone tell me what that one 3 leg mosfet is. Says Morocco ST 9540 427654 W33B20, when I call order no one says they can find it by those numbers. I can't find on Internet either.

Well, I am glad I asked for picture because in post 230 you have the numbers as 'W33B20' that is why I could not find any info on it.
The actual numbers as printed on the body is W33N20, so it is 'STW33N20'
