Identify component

I Have a ITOX g4v620-b motherboard that got damaged in the post. I seem to be missing the below component from my board but I cant identify it. Would anybody know. Sorry for poor picture it was all I could find on the net.

If it was damaged in the post would the component not be inside the packaging? - Can you claim off anyone for the damage?

Do you know the board description for the part
Can you post a very clear close up of that section of your board.

It was done on purpose, someone got a screw driver to it. Its a long story because it was signed for they wont take responsibility for it. I have already replaced all caps on the board and a diode that was damaged. Here is a picture of the whole board I found on the net. I will post a picture of my board in a few minutes. The application that is running on this is an old Dos app for a bowling alley. I tried booting the hard drive from another old pc I had but it wont work. this board has the old Eisa slot that a special card for controling the lanes connects to.

Ok - for future ( and if you can change now it is better if you post pics using manage attachments which is found by clicking Go Advanced. In line pic put some members off.
at least these are not too big.
According to the board it is a voltage regulator that might be missing- what about the two resistors below it? Are you sure they need to be there? do the pads look to have had components soldered to them.

EDIT - looking at the first picture it doesnt look like anything I recognise as a VR - I suspect if one was there it would have a
metal backplate that would go on the Big pad and two legs that would go on the two small pads at each side. possibly with a stub between them.

EDIT2 can you find VR1 or VR3 and see what they look like.

I cant find VR1 or VR3. I found VR4 and VR5 over beside the ram but looks nothing like what I am missing. It just looks like a normal Voltage Regulator. The component I am missing does not have solder points on the opposite side of board. Its like a diode soldered straight to the board.

are you sure there's something missing there?

I found a large picture on Google which shows just some solder remains there.

But suspect it never had one in that position - they are difficult to remove with a soldering iron

That pictures looks like there is nothing there all right. Only difference is that is the REV B1 of the board. This Board is REV A1 and it does look like there is something there. I have power and no display. Replaced CPU, Ram, Caps that were swollen, power supply all the usual. There was a sk12 diode broke off too and with this gone the pc would auto turn on as soon as power plug was put in. I replaced this and now I have to press the power button like it always did but still no display. I am only guessing that it was SK12 as that is what the other diodes are. It was D31 right over beside the IDE slots next to the green 1000uf cap.

Just got a good picture of Rev A1 board and there is nothing there. It was worth a shot. Thanks for the help.

OK if you need more help with this I suggest you start a new thread with the heading to include the full name of the motherboard and very brief detail of problem.
If it is a selfbuild detail the other components ram/OS/PSU etc
Detail the work you have done on it already and include pictures posted
using manage attachments.
