Default Chromebook recovery failed - how to fix it

So I had a Asus C433T Chromebook enrolled and after I modified bios I had to reinstall Chromium. I made a USB recovery stick with Chromebook Recovery Utility but I got "an unexpected error has occurred ..." message. I did try with another USB stick, etc. etc. -all steps found on internet about this issue and nothing worked.
Finally I found a site where they suggested to try with an older image and ... it worked!
What I did:
- when “Chrome OS is missing or damaged” message appeared I pressed Tab key and found: read only firmware id: Google_Rammus. xxxxx.xxx.x.
- On "https://chrome100.dev/#recovery-images" I found older images by boards, in my case Rammus, downloaded one released soon after the date from the laptop's sticker (in my case 2020-05, I chose one released in 2020-06)
- made USB recovery stick choosing "Use local image" in Chromebook Recovery Utility
- after successfully recovery I did an update to OS, it restarted and also made an update to firmware (bios) and all is working well.
I hope this is useful for ppl having the same problem with recovery.

mind if i ask what the bios patch was for?
usually bios patching is done to install Linux afterwards.

laptop was enrolled to a school account, I disabled enrollment and enabled developer mode - if this is what you asked.
After updating Chromium OS to latest release, it restarted and a message with "apply critical firmware update" appeared on screen and I supposed it was a bios update, I didn't remove chipset bios to read it again to see if there is a newer version.
