touchscreen problem on creative zen x-fi2 mp3 player

one day, i was cleaning my mp3 player (while it was off mind you!) with a wet soapy (dishwashing liquid) cloth (i guess i shouldnt have done that!). thereafter, the touchscreen behaved eratically. it behaves as if something is pushing down on the screen and none of the icons can register that i'm tapping on them. it thinks im dragging them. because of this the mp3 player technically doesnt work anymore since i cannot press play or select a song to play anymore.

so whats the issue with the touchscreen here? is this fixable or did i clean off some kind of a coating on the touchscreen and now its focked? thanks.

I'm guessing liquid has got between the resistive layers of the touchscreen.
Damp microfibre cloth to clean touchscreens.

Or put the player in a zip lock bag and some uncooked rice to cover the player and put in the sun with the display face down until it real warm but not hot

Then seal the bag when the player is warm

Then leave it in the bag for 3 or 4 hours after that

See if this will work for you
