do the same as you did for post #12, only remove it off the board
It should only have continuity one way, not both ways as shown in post #12
If you get a reading both ways off the board then it is shorted

As Trebo says test it again off the board.

There are a lot of tests for components in this guide written for computer monitors but lots of it applies to anything really.

No doubt that you know if the Diode is shorted or not (off the board)
But we DONT, are you going to enlighten us all???

My guess the diode was shorted, but who knows, he could have got back to us
