    Gateway gt5208 motherboard question

    I have a gateway desktop it had bad caps so I got some caps at a local store put the new caps in hooked everything back up and I have no display on my monitor I know the monitor works cause I had it hooked up to my mac its not a mac monitor would it be possible that I fried the motherboard by desoldering and soldering the new caps in place

      It is a mom and pop kinda place they have all kinds of stuff the first set I replaced was the stock kvg 2200uf 6.3v with rubycon 2200uf 6.3v the second set was teapo 1000uf 6.3v with jackcon 1000uf 6.3v I tested the pc with just the rubycon and it was doin the same as I stated above that's why I replaced the second set they wasnt leaking but the top was domed

        same with the jackcon junk.

        and what was written on the old caps? or post a pcb foto.

          Sorry the rubycon are mbz and the jackcon are lhk the old kzg where leaking didn't see anything on the board from the caps same with the teapo caps I know that the caps was bad caused they looked like a soda can left in the freezer the teapo say 1000uf 6.3v sek105 12/05 the kzg 6.3v 2200uf m 105 5 (7) 7x

                  The black spot on the back on the board I don't know what it is I know it was there before I started the job thats what make me think the board is fried
