Antec TruePower Trio 430W

The one I just put in my system to replace the Antec TruePower 2.0 480W, was just removed after only a few short weeks to make room for the SeaSonic S12-430W.

I cracked open the Trio 430W to find Teapo, Ce-Tur, and RLX brand caps in there. Teapo I already know is a bad brand from my Epox motherboards in the past.

Looks like great caps for an Antec. Not too excited about the Pce-turd, though.

If I'm not mistaken, those are the same brands of caps that I saw in an Antec SU-380 PSU (comes with the Fusion case) that I found in a dumpster just a few days ago (it was dead). The caps that have RLX on them are OSTs.

Is there a quick reference of good/bad brands? There are so many, I forget which are well known after a while.

I remember Fuhjyyu from that other Antec I just pulled a short while back (also posted about here) Those were already bulging after only ~8 months.

For bad caps or good caps brands, check forum stickies here

For PSU's Not that I know of here, in one place (I could be wrong)

The other prob is that same design can have different brand caps used at an earlier or later stage of production

Different models in the same brand can fall into a good or bad also

So you probably want 3 categories....for PSU

1) good design with good Caps
2) good design with junk caps
3) just plain rubbish

1 worth buying
2 worth refurbishing
3 look out dumpster here I come!
