    T-con: T370hw02 ve (37t04-c0j)t-con: T370hw02 ve (37t04-c0j)

I have the classic failed AS15 chip problem on the T-Con board. I want to fast track this repair and purchase a replacement board. But I'm seeing the same board type number for screen sizes from 37" through 46". And Sellers' website asking you to specify the screen size you want. I'm looking at one particular seller who says "Only for 46" screen" and TV in question is 40". Looking at image of the board on the website it appears physically identical.

Any experts want to advise whether I can risk the purchase or whether there is perhaps a firmware difference that prevents it from being interchangeable across different screen sizes?

The white silkscreen printed on the PCB is for the Blank PCB P/N which can be stuffed to make many different PCB Assemblies, you need the PCB assembly P/N which should be on the sticker.
Show us good clear pictures of the board.

Here is a view of the T-Con Board, and the type numbers.

The one I've been looking at has the following on the sticker (blurred at magnification level, but pretty sure it reads: TX-5546T03C11 etc

I think that answers the question. Mine says: TX-5540T03C12

The code obviously refers to screen size.

Thanks. I almost made an expensive purchase decision.

Thanks Budm. I've found the right one too coming out of China that I can pay expedited shipping on to get it here fast. Ends up being a rather expensive board, but it is new as opposed to refurbished exchange, which was my only local option here in Oz.

Our exchange rate is currently only about A$0.70=US$1, plus Oz has just introduced 10% GST on low value imports, so it all adds up. Customer wants to get TV going as a Christmas present, and she remembers paying $2,500 for it about 10 years ago and in her head that is what it is worth. So she is prepared to pay over-the-top to have it repaired. If I'd had time on my side I would have simply sent the board off to have the chip replaced.

As always, thanks for your good advice.

Only tv i had so Baked mainboard and tcon and i got it going and lasted me a month.
Then learned about as15 so replaced it and the problem went away but problems came back slowly. The problem would go away with warmth. Order new tcon and problem was still there . re soldered connector on mainboard with good flux and it went away even with old tcon . still threw out old tcon and the tv has be working for a year even with the baked main !

Just to close the thread, I replaced with a new T-Con out of China, specifically for the 40 inch screen, and all is good!
