...in cellular band support for new devices, from what I know.
The ultimate goal I wish to see is for new devices which can connect to a cellular network to support every GSM/UMTS/LTE band from 300 MHz to 6 GHz; I have noted certain countries with unusual cellular band usage (my definition of "unusual usage" is for UMTS bands other than 1, 5 and 8; for LTE, bands other than 1-5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38 and 40).
I am not concerned about CDMA (CDMA2000) band support here, given that a number of carriers are phasing out CDMA in favour of LTE and that CDMA never dominated the world and was mostly confined to North America.
Note that WCDMA (as used in UMTS) is unrelated to CDMA2000.
