Hi dear panel and fellow community members,
Lately my close to 5 year old LG 65" with IPS panel decided to die on me... My son was watching some cartoon and I thought my wife had turned off due dinner, yet later that friday night, I found out it simply wouldnt turn back on..
The power-LED in the bottom flashed 4 times, and nothing came onto the screen... I cannot tell if any sound came, as I've never used the speaker in the TV, always optical out, and no sound through this source.
I consider the TV to be fairly good, the IPS truely works it magic on the colours... I was hoping to give it a shot...
I opened the TV, took out the power supply, measured all diodes, all only 1-way, it checked out... The caps I could only visually inspect, none popped, none leaked - but measuring them is tricky at home..
So... I decided to order a new power supply from ebay - this had several weeks shipping, which I couldnt wait for - eventually I just bought a new 82" for the livingroom...
The powersupply came much earlier than estimated on ebay, however... In a freakin' pizza tray and wrapped in highly static boble wrap.. (Spanish clown..)
Gave it a shot - same result...
Any other components worth trying to swap? Hope there might be some advice for this long-shot
