had to order some and dumped them before installation so they are virgin.

How do you dump em? Did you actually desolder, read the eeprom and resolder the eeprom ? Or is there any faster way of doing it?

Both of these Need Tested as copied files after id dumped the smashed screen.
not had an opportunity yet to retest.

Is this really common these days for a telly to go knackered and its just down to corrupted eeproms?

And another thing, is it right you just bung what you need on a mem stick and plug it into the patients usb port?

If you purchase a replacement you could read it first then save a copy. If you have a working set but panel problem, then you could unsolder the EEPROM, read and save it.
