Fujitsu Siemens P19-2 Rev.1 backlight problem

    Hello dear forum members,
i already fixed a few of these monitors: normally a blown cap on secondary side that sometimes also takes a zener diode down. No big deal. See here: https://translate.google.com/transla...-text=&act=url
But the most recent monitor has all caps (secondary side) doing fine (visual inspection and test with ESR meter) but turns off the backlight after 3 seconds.
The only thing i noticed is some discoloration due to heat in the area of the two transformers that are part of the inverter. I resoldered the whole area already without success. Heating up the board with the hair dryer also not show any changes. Unfortunately I do not have a spare CCFL to test. How to further troubleshoot or is there any common fault with these monitors? For pictures see link above.

Re: Fujitsu Siemens P19-2 Rev.1 backlight problem

Just wanna report back: I got myself one of those blue CCFL testers from ebay.
I fitted the proper adapter to connect the cable of the lamp but all 4 lamps in the monitor not light up.
The tester seems to operate normally and also there is some arcing if you move the tip away from the cable.
Unfortunately I do not have any known good lamps around to test the tester itself. But on the other hand it is very unlikely that all 4 lamps in the monitor wen totally bad all at the same time?!

EDIT: Poor contact of the crocodile clip caused the tester to appear to not work. Did resolder it and now all 4 lamps light up. So I keep searching for the cause of this on the board...
