    Corsair HX650W

    Hello.
I hope maybe someone can help me.
My PSU seems to be faulty but I don't know how to repair.
I only connect it to my motherboard. When I leave the RAM out all the LEDs become green and everything stays on power. When I put a ram in the computer it comes into an on/off loop. sometimes it stays on for up to 15 seconds but I am sure the LEDs are flickering a bit. So I guess the voltage is not stable. Sounds like a broken capacitor, or can this be some kind of power management what is broken?
Would be cool if someone know that issue and can help me with this
(I already opened the PSU but unfortently I can't see a broken cap)
    Thanks to everybody-

        Re: Corsair HX650W

this type of symptom of an on-off boot loop is typically caused by a bad mobo or bad ram. either the ram modules are bad or the dimm slots on the board are bad. could also be a bad imc in the cpu but not likely. this is not a psu problem because the psu stays on without ram.

Sorry for my late answer & thanks for every reply-
The motherboard is definitely okay, because its works like a charm with another PSU. So it has to be the PSU itself. I can open it again, but I couldn't find any optical problem. Does somebody ever had the same problem?

well that coil with the burn mark needs investigating.
              did you buy this new?
i'm not sure it's just coincidence that the heatsink above the burn has sleeving on it!!
