Do you briefly see any pattern, if only brief?
You also would need to unplug the main board connector in some instances and connect PS ON signal to GROUND wire with a 100 to 470 ohm resistor.

no nothing i have measured the power coming from the power board to the a board it has 2 sets of 12 wires one sat over each other i will add pic in a mo but i get as follows

the top outer wires starting from the brown wire down
1-3.19v
2-0v
3-0v
4-18.03v
5-0v
6-0v
7-5.1v
8-5.1v
9-0v
10-0v
11-15.13v
12-0v

and the inner starting from brown again

1-0.12v
2-5.14v
3-0v
4-18.02v
5-0v
6-0v
7-5.1v
8-5.1v
9-0v
10-15.01v
11-15.01v
12-4.35v

does this sound correct 18v seems a bit high ?

Yes, so you want to connect PS_ON to the GND pins but using a resistor to limit any current flowing.

That is a 200 kohm resistor, so it would not work.

Colour code, some examples:-
- brown, black, brown (ignore gold/silver at end) is 100 ohm.
- red, red, brown is 220 ohm
- orange, orange, brown is 330 ohm.
- yellow, violet, brown is 470 ohm.

You can also test on meter to see resistance.

You might have to buy one then. You can get them from maplins. Just ask for a pack of 100 ohm, 1/4W 5% metal (or) carbon film through hole resistors.

Right found one that works nothing from screen but no clicking just clicks once and stays on

It's important to use the right value or the TV will not work properly, what value did you use?
