    Notebooks losing ExpressCard slots?

I noticed upon opening a Toshiba notebook that there was provision for an ExpressCard slot, but the connector was not installed.
It is apparent that ExpressCard (a mix of PCI Express and USB) devices are not that popular these days, with USB (especially 3.0) dominating.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

I wonder if someone is going to come up with a standard internal USB 3.0 slot system to replace any kind of PCI-E system. Maybe with multiple slots. standard sound connectors. for an internal audio system. hmmm
