    MSI GP72 6QE Leopard Pro

    Hello Everyone,

Here I am again with another request of help form more skilled people.

Have this MSI GP72 6QE Leopard Pro.
    Motherboard: MS-16J51 ver 1.0

Power button flashes when pressed for a fraction of a second and nothing happens.

Measured voltages and all look to be fine. It just wont start.

Would someone be able to help me with it?

PS: it does charge the battery

Already did a BIOS reprogram with one found on the internet (only one that was for free) and still nothing.

Your help would be highly appreciated.

    Regards

Check the random bios you found with MEAnalyzer - https://github.com/platomav/MEAnalyzer/releases ,if the "File System State" says "Initialised" is has dirty ME FW,in other words its already been booted on another machine and the ME FW would need cleaning.
MSI have full bios versions at the support site, (with "Configured" clean FW), flash the bios and take the repair from there if it still has problems,at least you`ll know the bios is working 100% so you can rule it out - https://www.msi.com/Laptop/support/G...opard-Pro.html

Post voltage measurements on all large grey coils and post a link to the schematic or post it here if you have it.

Page 1 of the schematic lists all the major IC`s. KBC KB9028C (page 28).

Yes it does need programming. You might be able to buy a pre programmed chip on ebay.If you are going to keep working on laptop repairs then a KBC/IO programmer is a must have tool so that you can program them yourself.
I recommend the vertyanov jig, other programmers are SVOD 3 (also programs SPI) ,SAS ioprogrammer (vertyanov clone).

Don`t assume its the EC thats dead unless youve checked the working voltages. Have you checked PQ4 ,PQ5 mosfets ?

PQ4 has 19.5v on all pins but pin4. On pin 4 has 8.2v
PQ5 has 19.5v on all pins but pin4. On pin 4 has 9.6v
