No, it jumps from 2005 to 2008. That wasn't random.

When they came out with plastics and fiberglass some young upstarts thought metal cars were going away.
[Same with the hover-craft back in the '60's.]
      .
When they came out with microwaves some thought conventional ovens would fade away.
      .
When they came out with freeze dried food some thought refrigerators would go way.
      .
      .
Some things just do what they do too well.
      -
They still make electric toasters (and most people have one).
They still make radios with AM.
      They still make hand saws.
      And tires are still rubber.

Let me get back to you on that tomorrow. I've been reading BCN in small bursts since it has been a busy day, and I didn't look at that report very closely.

Not a very smart way to go about a debate, now is it?

I'll get my shit straight in the morning.

Ya think maybe the USA [and in fact the entire World's] Economy being on the edge for the last 4 years might affect sales of new PCs?
... Just a little... Ya think?

This new age youth are out of context with real life, my opinion!

how in world the PC will disappear? you guys are out of this world and dreaming,

you guys think big business ever give up PCs for this little crap stuff?
remember there is a limit to what a small pocket device can do.

is like to try to put 1 gallon of liquid i a 12oz bottle

i agree that only more big business will aquire big computers and most people will use laptops.but pc disappearing just a dreaming of a few irresponsible people that don't know nothing about life and technology.
