    Topower TOP-420P4(420PII) 420watt server supply

Active PFC couldn't save this from bad caps... and I don't think a recap will be possible with where the caps are located.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Supply is junk... Makes buzzing noise when plugged in, one bad (small) cap.

          powmax redundant.
note the burst cap in lower right.note the engrish on the label!
          this is on +5stby.
this unit was in a hot spare server plugged in but not running.
if it were run any at all all the caps would have likely failed.

makeit easy.desolder all the rectifiers and heatsink mounts.pull heatsink/rects as a unit.
            recap.reasemble.
i can do that in less time than it takes to pull/install caps with hemostats.

Thermaltake Silent Purepower 480W TWV (Total Watts Viewer).

                on secondary side:

                2x 3300uF 10v Teapo
                2x 3300uF 6.3v Jenpo
                1x 2200uF 16v Jenpo
                1x 1000uF 16v Teapo
                1x 470uF 16v Jenpo

on of the bulk caps (2x 680uf 250v unknown) is a little bulged (about 1-2mm height).

With those wimpy thermistor, I/P rectifiers, main O/P transformer and heatsinks, 250W from that might be pushing your luck. Those I/P lytics look like they might be a bit wimpy, too. That non-existent line filter should make you popular with your neighbors.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

that okia unit was in a p4 2.8 with 6 hdd,2 opticals and lots of lights.
                        +5 was running 4.35!
it got hot enough to stink.
got a worse one than that to post later!

Looks similsr to the 250w Hipro I posted, but on mine all big o/p caps are the green Teapo. Over 1 year old and none bad.

As promised in the other thread, a top-down shot of the Liteon PS-5651-1A1, as marketed by Supermicro under the name PWS-0060.

All the meaningfully large electrolytics are Chemicon and Taicon, although if you look carefully you'll see one tiny, but definitely ugly, little OST staring back out at you.

                                    MS Industrial KYP-350
JEE cap bulged on +5VSB line. Output voltages were very low under load and hissing sound was coming from inside. There were also 2200uF JEE caps on other outputs - no bulging but changed them anyway - did not help. It turned out to be bad TL494 chip.
                                    (photos taken after repair)

It weights about 4lb and 12+/14A OST primaries
very good voltages but crappy caps
It's better than the 2lb L&C in my main rig

I have the same PSU, Tyler, it's a Dell/Lite-On unit. They sneezed all over the inside of the PSU.
