ok guys this little guy seems like a nice board to save ...or not ?

powers up but no post.after a close look i noticed a hole set of 6.3v 1200uf 105c caps were blowted one or two were starting to split at the top of the caps
ok so i huntted around and found replacemeants no problem........
removed all bad caps and was getting ready to put in the new ones

new problem. and im not sure what the component is called .if you have a link to my manuall ....its a black chip three pin r3oo i think it could be a north brige or south brige ....sorry about this if i can find out what it is ill post ...anyway it sits above the three ddr slots .. it looks as if it had poped with a small hole and white powder is in side it ???

no its not a north brige or south brige !...?

It is a transistor or regulator of some type. Can you get the number off the chip? That will help in identifying it.

      i think i have a 7dxr in my pile o boards.
if you can find the designation on the board i can look at mine.
probably a mosfet used as a chopper or syncronous rectfier.

If you have access to a web server, you can post the pic here. If not, email the pic to admin@badcaps.net. I can post on one of my web servers, and we can try and figure it out...

realy would like to get this board back on the road

the componeant that had poped a hole in its self is a Voltage Regulator
it can be found right next to the ram_ov .sw
the coding on the chip is c5001 .the rest is burnt.

@topcat i have posted the pic to admin ....is it possible for me to save this board ... ......thanx ...x...
