    LE40A656A1F - Bricked

I've bricked this set while updating it after it became unresponsive so I'm looking for the EEPROM bin file in order to reprogram the EEPROM.
The set has a bad panel so I don't wish to spend money on it and consider this just an exercise.
    Thanks

    Mainboard MT8226 - EMMA, BN41-00974B
    Panel Samsung LTF400HC01
    EEPROM IC7004, S24C308AKH5-J508
    Attached Files

      Re: LE40A656A1F - Bricked

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I have truly bricked the set with the only function working being the On/Off. Set powers up using the remote but no backlight/display. Info, Menu, Mute, Power also brings on the set but again with no backlight/display. Although the remote control signals are still received by the set the only working function being the power On/Off remote button only. All the touch buttons on the set are unresponsive.

        Re: LE40A656A1F - Bricked

How it is happened this? Remember the tech terms, eeprom doesn't contain any software, that is the nand flash. How do you think you can reprogram that chip?? It needs unsoldering, reprogram with programmer, resoldering.
In my HD i have a guide in Italian on how to update the DVB-T software through the serial cable between PC and tv using the software SV2_V07. You need Firmware T-PERLDEUC-1020.0.tvz .

I hate eeprom faults i usually opt for a bopard swap if possible as you say though not worth spending money on if panel fault though lets hope someone has the firmware for free pity you cant remove the old eeprom like some older samsungs that rewrite its own software back to it

            Re: LE40A656A1F - Bricked

I found a guide here which gives some information on using the SV2_V07.
I've connected an oscilloscope to the TV's serial port and at switch on there is serial data stream which I can see on the oscilloscope. So it looks as though the TV serial port is working.
Do you know where I could find the firmware you mentioned T-PERLDEUC-1020.0.tvz .
            Thanks

Thanks for the link. It doesn't really give me any more information than I already have.
The SV2_V07 software says that I need Firmware T-PERLDEUC-1020.0.tvz just as David.p says but I cannot find that file. The Samsung site gives T-AMBPEUMD.exe as the update file.

however we dont know what fault the set had and what you did to say you bricked it.. RC working its mean eeprom ok
T-AMBPEUMD.exe after you format the USB pin to format32 you run the exe and it will install the firmware bin format on the usb.

hopefully the file etc will work, you maybe able to reuse the main board then in another repair etc.

                            Re: LE40A656A1F - Bricked

So I've successfully connected the set to my laptop via the TV's serial port and run the program SV2_V07 selecting the file T-PERLDEUC-1020.0.tvz when prompted.
There is initial communication but it then appears to be stuck in a continuous loop as can be seen in the screenshot attached.
                            Any idea's?

The cable less than 1m or even 1,5m with a ferrite ring.

The cable is about 0.3 metres and the communication does appear to be OK.
Using a USB to serial interface which I have used many times without any problems.
