Bigger size is OK just have to be about the same Amp, you just have to solder small wires to the ends of the fuse and then solder the wires to each end of the SMD fuse for testing.
i found a used t-con on ebay for $10.99 obo and free shipping im thinking i should just buy that n call it a day with this tv. sellers states it works he had 6 sold 4 and has 2 left
yea i will buy it n post back as usual.. i picked this tv up for $15 so another $10 wont hurt lol i also picked up a proscan 37 with it for another $15 that i will work on tomorrow after work but i gotta b up at 6 so im going to call it a night..
I hope ur on tomorrow bud to help me with the proscan :-)
If you feel brave, you can jump the fuse or set your meter in DCA mode and connect the probes on each end of the fuse so you can see if the steady current draw is more the 1.5A.
well new tcon did not fix the problem
i tested the tk fuse wrong last time i must have been really tired.. the fuse does not have 12v on each side like i said before but the fuse also is not open. the fuse has continuity on my original tcon and on the one i just ordered.so they are good.. so why are they not getting the 12v signal?
does it matter that the board i ordered said it was from a vizio and i have a Toshiba? i checked all the board numbers and they matched perfectly and the whole board setup looks identical
The 12Vdc is fed through the MOSFET which is used as a switch, the MOSFET gets the turn on signal from the processor when TV is turned on. There should be either 3-pin MOSFET or 8-pin MOSFET close to LVDS cable to goes to the T-CON board.
OK, DO you see that white arrow by the CN65 that points to that big green trace, that is the 12V power line, so wee need to find out where that trace go to, it should end up on one of the MOSFET pin some where close by. You can leave the meter probe on that pad and just probe around to see which pin of the device will give you <1 Ohm reading.
I went through same problem as your board right now about a week ago, long thread, read post 49 and later to see how we found that MOSFET. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...O+T-CON&page=3
It took over 100 posts to solve the problem. Now you know why I am a little burnt out.

yes bud i do see and do appreciate u helping me. And no worries i read that whole thread from 49 up and u wont be getting any How do you knows from me lol i completely trust you with my tv's
ok i have a question forgive my ignorance on this but i read the whole post and started probing last night but couldnt find anything under 1 ohm so for giggles i touch the leads of my dvom together and it read 1.2 ohms??? that would be y i cant find anything under 1 ohm i had the setting at its lowest 200 ohm. today i went and got another dvom free at harbor freight (dont judge me lol) and set it at 200 ohms and touched the leads and got the exact same 1.2 ohm reading so what am i doing wrong?
hmm nevermind i read the leads are supposed to have resistance most ppl get .4 to .8 i get 1.2ohm (thanks harbor freight) so im told just subtract the resistance reading from my measured readings i hope thats correct
