    Hope you're *not* insisting on using the 1.8V SPI converter you've posted images earlier!
    As suggested along the way you should use this one:
    2nd. Forget the clip and that tricky voltage level converter;
    3rd. Use the CH341A programmer and a suitable voltage level converter, e.g. this 1.8V SPI Flash adapter around €4;
    later found in this tutorial they're using the some converter, btw

    Therefore, if you're not comfortable removing the BIOS chip you should, imo:
    Forget what puzzles you... get the tools you need and follow the tutorial
    The tutorial mentioned above is quite complete and has detailed images.
    [BAT+ has to be desoldered, and the BIOS chip has to be correctly detected in CH341 programmer before anything good can be accomplished].

      I'm using the recommended 1.8V adapter, I didn't notice I had to put the clip on the latch's side, opposite of the ch341. It detects now, thank you.

              can you please help me i have the same issue. what adapter you are talking about. and latch side?

                the socket on the programmer is 16pin,
                8pins at one end for eeproms, 8pins at the other end for flashchips.

                  I have a very similar situation, I can open a separate thread but I thought it's too much similar.
                  Let me explain:
                  • I need to flash W25Q64FW on the motherboard of a chromebook
                  • I have already unplugged the battery
                  • I plan to use a TXB0108 to bring voltage from 3.3V to 1.8V
                  • I will also use a CH341A, black version


                  Ideally I would do this on Linux, but I am already planning to use Windows to reduce complexity (as that is anyway the most used way and I should encounter less issues).

                  Can you foresee any problem with the setup and/or the TXB0108? I really do not wish to order another part as I have a few days left to do this. I have read mixed reviews about the TXB0108 in a SPI scenario.
