    Sony KDL-75W850C Issues

I have a Sony KDL-75W850C that when powered on it blinks the backlights and then turns off. After a couple seconds it will then go into the led blink mode and will blink 6 times. I took off the back and the power board clicks on when powered on and then clicks off after a couple of minutes. I have seen where this could be backlights but is there a possibility that the powerboard or main board could be bad?

Check your led voltages at the led connecter at switch on and see if they peak then drop before the power supply switches off.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

You need to put all connectors back in place, then keep black probe on the chassis and then Red probe on each pins of the LED connector, since you have 4 LED strings, then you will have to preform the test 8 times when turning on the TV on while watching the meter.

This model is notorious for bad backlights. The panel has white two way adhesive tape holding it down into the panel trim so you have to break that panel away from the bezel before you pull it or you will damage it. The new strip kits are hard to find but the rest of the exchange is pretty easy.

If fix goes well place a varistor to protect leds output, not tried but worth a try..
