Abit NF7-S 2.0 short while recapping the AGP cap?

    Hello!

I have an old Abit NF7 that was stored after working OK and when I took it out of storage it didn't boot at all. I saw that the nichicon capacitor right under the AGP port was visibly damaged and today I proceeded to replace it with an equivalent Panasonic FR (EEUFR0J182).

Prior to that, I measured the ESR value of both the new one (0.024 ohms) and the bad one (>1 ohm) using an aliexpress meter (MESR-100 v2). As everything seemed ok, I went ahead.

Besides a very poor solder job on my part I went to check resistance and continuity (just for curiosity) between the 2 cap leads before trimming them off and... ¡surprise! My crappy multimeter senses a connection. I tested an unused panasonic cap and there is no continuity between the leads.

Is this ok? Did I break something or did the board shorted when I tried booting with the broken cap before noticing it?

I'll try to take the cap off and look further for shorts but at this point I'm really fed up dying hardware.
