Soniq S49VT15A-AU stuck in standby

TV standby light is on but no response to remote or side buttons.
I measure +0.23 on the +5SB pin (8 from top) and +5.2 on PS/ON (9) and nothing on other pins.

There is 323v across the big cap on the hot side.

I included pics of both sides of the PS, main board and of both together.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Seems strange, unplug tv from power, unhook cable from powerboard to mainboard leave it unhooked, plug power cord back in, see if your 5 volt standby is there and steady.

My mistake in counting pins. 5.2V on the +5SB pin and I get 3.3 on the regulator on the main board next to the socket with the yellow and white wires

it sound there are no signal goes from Mainboards SPI flash to turn on the powerboards... locate the SPI Flash and freeze it with air cooler spray.. then try to turn on...

So what DCV do you have on PSON, BKON, ADJ with ref to cold circuit ground (SG GND)?

Do you get those readings while in standby/tv plugged in but off AND when you hit power on?

test the voltage on PIN1 & 8 on the SPI Flash IC , and write its label No of the chips

There are many 3-pin LDO Voltage regulators on the main board that you should at least check the Voltages on all 3 pins with ref to ground just to be sure they are OK.
I.E. I see at least two of them by the connector that goes to the power supply board, I cannot read the IC designators because it the picture is not clear enough for me to read.

Which one is likely to be the spi flash? And what test method - standard voltmeter ok?

There are many 3-pin LDO Voltage regulators on the main board that you should at least check the Voltages on all 3 pins with ref to ground just to be sure they are OK.
I.E. I see at least two of them by the connector that goes to the power supply board, I cannot read the IC designators because it the picture is not clear enough for me to read.

The 3.3 regulator close to the connector with the yellow and white wires is the only one with voltage. 5.2 in 3.3 out. Can I check the others in circuit for a short (if that is their failure mode)?

All the others show 0V on input and output. There are 6 I can see. Some are 3.3 and others adj

it sound yours knowledge about SPI Flash not enough , so before you diving deeper with LDO ..... let do it in easy way...you need to write back MbootUpgrade.bin and main firmware MstarUpgrade.bin

download the files from here.. read the Instruction.txt. your USB should formatted FAT or FAT32 and no more than 2Gb.

Thanks. Finding a USB that small will be the next challenge. I guess I can repartition a larger one

i am not sure partition a large usb will be good idea.. just try the larger usb stick be formatted to fat 32 will be fine if you dont have any other files on the usb root.. some windows or pc system after formatting leave hidden file as information

No response from TV when pressing CH+ for 10sec and then standby on TV (not remote)

Some new info. The user reports that the TV became progressively more difficult to turn on. Finally requiring multiple power disconnects.

And I have located the only 8 pin chip next to the cpu

SUCCESS!!! I restored the usb to full size, formatted as FAT32, copied the firmware files, and the TV installed them.

It is now working
