As probably no symptom is unknown to those around here, would appreciate any comments.
Trying to troubleshoot an intermittent condition for a non-technical senior - remotely.
When I can get over there, will try a factory reset, but suppose it could be a symptom of a failing cap or other component - and prefer to be forewarned either way, if possible.

Detail:
Older 28" (non-Smart) flat screen Samsung UN28H4000AFXZA works perfectly, except when occasionally displays one of two - probably related - symptoms.
1) Channel displays picture, but no built-in sound output. Changing volume setting, or toggling mute button does nothing. Audio-out ports status is unknown.
2) Channel "blank" and displays "no signal" message. But signal quality/strength display is fine.
Taught user to power off and back on - after which all is well.
Presume the OTA roof antenna is still up with strong signal, and coax tightly connected, and that household power is stable.
Can't get a definitive answer from the user, but think it usually happens after TV has been on - rather than showing up immediately after power-up.
Thanks.
