    X540UBR REV 2.0, No Power

The 3v/5v IC (2n5bto7) was getting hot when connected to PSU and I measured the resistance to the ground of every pin.
phase2 pin and vclk were shorted to the ground. to determine the direction of the short, I disconnected the coil which was connected to phase 2 and the short was not from the IC, but from the power rail.
I injected 1V to see what was getting warmer, about 500mA current draw was observed and The PCH side of the SoC is getting warmer.
I have 2 Questions for you guys,

Is the vlck low resistance to the ground normal?
It is safe to assume that the PCH is Done?

If PCH part of SOC is getting hot at 1V injection and consumption of 500mA does indicate a shorted PCH.

Does that mean when injecting voltage a good pch must not get warm at all?

It may get a little hot. Its the consumption on dc supply which indicates whether its shorted or not. there is no fix scale to declare a pch shorted.
