![]() Hello all,
I have a XPS 9360 from a family member, that suddenly won't turn on anymore. When plugged in, the white light on the front comes on, and then goes out after a couple second. Power button does nothing, and no light comes on when pressing it. Screen is black. I removed the battery, and CMOS battery, and when I plug it in, the CPU becomes hot, the front light blinks orange three times, and white once (CMOS battery error). The fan shortly comes on and the front light stays orange, and then the machine turns off, all while the screen is still black. Power button does nothing. CMOS battery is at 3V and tried a new 3V battery, but still nothing. The display comes on when I hold down D on the keyboard (display test), but I can't make it boot to bios. No shorts on the board as I can find. Symptoms seem like the same as in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oo7Ssf5X7qk However they do no show how they fix it, other than removing the CMOS battery. |

![]() You need to remove the battery , cmos battery and short the cmos battery pins for 10sec to reset bios. Do you got all standby voltages? If you got all standby voltages i would suggest then program bios externaly or try first to clean me region of your original dump.

![]() There seems to be two Winbond chips on the back of the board, and one on the front. Don't know which one to try and flash.

![]() Re connect the cmos battery.Apply power and it will turn on automatically-may switch off and on a couple of times. If still no display, switch it off by pressing powerbutton(and not removing the ac adapter). Turn it again with power button and let the on-off cycle for 3-4 times and you may get display. Most of the newer dell requires this after bios flash.

![]() Yes it does. Yes the PCH gets warm/hot immediately, however only when the system boots. If I turn off the machine, it cools down, even with DC connected.
