I picked up one of these on an impulse buy.
It had purple lines in the image, image flickering, and intermittently turning green.
I've made an amateur attempt to reflow the BGA using a cheap SMD hot air station and some flux. Managed to succeed on first attempt. Main concern I have now is preventing recurrence of the problem.

Those who have added additional cooling, has the problem reoccurred?
What type of cooling did you add on (active/passive), and how long did it last?
