    Dell 400SC

    Hello-

I'm new to the forums. I have a dell 400sc that has started rebooting intermittently and after some research I noticed my caps were bad (bulged and leaking). I ordered replacement caps (nichicon 820 6.3v) and replaced them on my board. After I put things back together, when I push the power switch everything spins up for barely a second but doesn't actually turn on. Any thought/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Sounds like a short somewhere. Check your soldering to make sure you didn't bridge any connections, and make sure the board is mounted properly in the case.
    Ludicrous gibs!

You could also have a replacement cap reverse polarity. Reverse caps will cause power supply to 'fold back' and shut down. How do I know...... been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Stupidity should be a crime, especially for drivers. I have NO patience for them.
