    lg 50LB659 screen problem -help

    hello experts
i have this problem on my lg
when i start the tv the screen is black but the back light is on .if i disconnect one side of the reebons that is connected from the lcd to the main board i get a picture on the half of the screen .but when i connect this side back there is no picture at all.so i assume the other half of the screen cause a short to the tcon board and prevent it ro display .the tcon is integrated in the main board not separate.
is it possible that the half of a screen will be defected.anyone has experience this ??
    any suggestions??

    thanks

This sounds likke a defective LCD panel unfortunately. The only thing you can do is look at the panel driver boards on the side that shuts the screen off completely and check for shorts against small SMD style MLCC capacitors
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

I have the same problem. I checked the SMD caps they show short. I took out one smd cap to check if that was really short but it was not short. I test the two points where the cap was sitting it shows short. there were 6 cofs on that side of the driver board. Do i have to change all short smd of each cofs. are they related ? or is the short really coming from lcd panel. Please help.. Thanks

Is there caps next to the one you took out? If so it could be one of those.

You will need to remove the cap one by one and see if the shorts will go away or not, if not then the COF may be shorted out.
BTW, are testing the caps on the tab bonding board without the T-CON still connected to the tab bonding boards?
