If I did not find this forum I would have never gotten into this hobby. There is no other forum so dedicated to repair of consumer electronics especially TVs. I've looked. I'm not sure if this was a fluke or intentional. But it's fantastic!

It was a little of both. As the bad capacitor plague began to slow down in computer hardware, I noticed it began increasing in other consumer electronics, so we kinda 'shifted gears' a little, steering away from the PC a little and focusing more on electronics as a whole. I didn't want to see the site die off. The name "badcaps.net" is a pretty generic term in relation to any particular type of electronics....so it made the migration into more general electronics repair a quite easy transition.

Awesome when I'm not a broke SOB I'll donate some money. If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't know much about electronics. Badcaps forum rules!

If it wasn't for this forum, there'd be a good 32" TV with a simple problem in the dumpster, but thanks to everyone here, that TV is in service as my primary monitor over HDMI! Way to go!

Don't buy those $10 PSU "specials". They fail, and they have taken whole computers with them.

For computer parts, go to Newegg.

For electrical stuff(pushbuttons, capacitors, etc), use Digikey.

Windows 10!? Oh yeah, that sorry excuse of an operating system that is more infuriating than someone crashing your car!

TVs repaired: Toshiba 32AV500U
Stereo Receivers brought back to life: 1(Fisher RS-1056)
Stereos/Stereo receivers to recap: Fisher RS-1056
