    LG 39ln5300

Hey all i repaired this set by replacing a single led smack dab in middle of screen. All is well with this set. Would act like it was going to turn on but no brief flash as you normally get. No picture notta. Led voltages would spike then slowly go down.

We need pictures of the power supply board.
How high does the LED Voltage jumps up to? Same Voltage without the LED connector in place?
It sounds like you still have open circuit in the LED string.

I must have misread his post, I thought he replaced the LED and get the brief flash and that is all.

            Re: LG 39ln5300

Evening and apologies for the slight high jacking of this thread (though it is the same model)

My LG TV that lost its picture but sound was still available. I followed a YouTube troubleshooting guide by performing the following (below), but have run into a scenario not covered by the video guide.

            1) I performed the flashlight test, which did tell me I had a picture and sound, thus concluded backlights were out (none visible through the top vents, as well)
            2) Performed the voltage checks on the PWR SPLY board with the LED cable connected and disconnected (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pyuXwNkBMA&t=365s):
            a. With cable connected, LED + TP was @ 155 VDC
            b. With cable dis-connected, LED + TP was @ 85 VDC
            c. I believe with this scenario, I am still looking at bad LED strips, I just needed a second opinion before placing an order for parts (and help deciphering which LED strips to purchase)

I was hoping someone could clarify my results, or put me down another troubleshooting path. Noob appreciation to the highest.

Yes you do have a bad Backlights problem. You need to strip down the Panel to get to the backlights so that you could see the numbers labelled on the each strip.
