Hey, manual is only five pages unlike other asus board documents, and I need the name of the component u5203 to repair usb surge error, it seems to me either a tvs-esd diode or mosfet with 8 pins?

It's a repair guide not schematics. Schematics are rarely available for newer Asus laptops.

Component part number is contained inside the boardview, see attached screenshot.

Yes thanks for that, I have also managed to open fz file with boardviewer, and I could see name of the component after posting this, openboardview was not able to open fz files, and openview can open asc files but available asc files did not have that info on openboardview. At least this was the case with latest openboardview on ubuntu latest 18 version, and with the asc files I have found. ( made a fresh build by git clone, openboardview just keeps crashing when I try to open any fz files for this board, maybe its related to fz key but I couldn't find find any how to about fz files and fz key anywhere on openboardview website or at github, then I have seen the forum post about fz key. I think a warning and info about the fz key requirement would be better instead of including a dummy default key data and appcrash.

I just came to update my post, but to see its already done by you

Re: Asus N56VM REV 2.3 Schematic

Off-topic, but about the OpenBoardView situation:

As stated there the key can be fetched from the IRC channel #openboardview@irc.freenode.net topic.
                    https://github.com/OpenBoardView/Ope...ment-307065224

There's also an issue open to add a better error message in this situation:
                    https://github.com/OpenBoardView/Ope...View/issues/91

But no one implemented it yet.

I didn't want to integrate the key in the source code as I wasn't sure if that could be a reason for a DMCA claim on the Github repo.

hello, since you guys are working with this motherboard, do you know if there is another USB soldering point to add an additional connector ?
