Re: HP HSTNN-HA09 laptop power brick - power led turns off

I've checked the voltage at the rectifier, I get 105V, 105V and 323V. I read 323/322V at the large capacitor. I each case, these readings stay constant even when the PSU has stopped.
The readings at the two small lytics caps are always random between 15 and 20V, whether it's been just plugged or the PS has shut down.

Could you make a schematic of the primary side?

        Hi all,

Just in case you ar still interested in repairing this AC adaptor,
I have good news for you. I just repaired mine this morning.

It had exactly the same problem as described previously in this thread.

The repair is very simple :
        - Replace R56 (150 Ohms) That's it!

This resistor is in series with the LED part of the OPTO supposed to control Feedback and voltage regulation of the primary side of the Flyback.
R56 was open -> No feedback -> Overvoltage protection of the primary controller wich seem to be a TEA1751 despite the unknown reference marked on it.

        Best Regards from FRANCE

          Hi all,

I made a mistake in my last post:
R56 is 750 Ohms (SMD marking not easy to read).

          Best regards.
