    GeForce 9800GTX+ video problem

    Hi, i have ZOTEC GeForce 9800GTX+ that wont start, i fount that one MOSFET (060n03l) that went bad, so i replaced it. Now PC start but picture is defected.

    I try reflow GPU but that did not help.

    Please any ideas?

    is it possible that some of this aluminium caps are bad?

      No. It's either a dud GPU or bad memory chips. Usually the memory only makes vertical or horizontal lines, so my money's still on the GPU.

        Yeah, I'm going to say dead GPU as well. The only times I've seen this kind of stuff is from thermal damage over long periods of time and not caps.

          Did you try reflow the memory chips? and if the problem remains, the solution is re-balling he gpu.

            The funny thing is, I had a problem similar to this on another kind of "9800", LOL. (ATI Radeon 9800 Pro in 2007 that I got from WinCycle)

            The only good thing I got from it was that the motherboard BIOS always detected it.....
            (The BIOS never gave any bleep code for video on the Asus A7N8X-X) (When I moved it to my socket 462 motherboard to test again)

            And sometimes, it looks like it's gonna pass everything visually when it randomly gives me video corruption again.....

            It made me wonder if ATIs back in 2003 usually had poor solder.....

              i try to reflow all memory IC no help still defect picture, reballing of GPU will wait for better day
