It won't work, unless he could downgrade the bios, supposing 8FC8 suffix is an updated algorithm, which is not.
What Hatch_Man could probably try is to register the laptop at www.dell.com, then contact technical support and ask for the corresponding master password. If you don't know the previous owner information, try "dell blind ownership transfer", there used to be information in other forum(s), it may work for you, the same as it worked for me in the past.Comment
