Yes it was the LED strips, several shorted LED's on each one. If you have one of those testers you can measure the voltage of each section 3v drop per LED and I remember some as low as 12V total with several shorted.

Mine was LEDs too. I opened it up and found the bottom row not lighting up at power on. I plugged the top row into the PS connector for the bottom row and they came on fine for the 3 second boot up, so I figured PS was good just the two bottom strips were bad. So I ordered a new set. They came in quickly, replaced them tonight, and good as new. Thanks
