just chiming in and resurrecting this thread, i had the tv with surface mount capacitors. Would power off after 5-10 minutes of usage, replaced 470 uf and we're back in business: http://imgur.com/a/lr7ft

Thanks! I changed the cap noted above and no lag on the TV turning on and the backlight powered right up. Image is good. . surprising that the old cap tested within tolerance on my capacitance tester.

Thanks again! With your help I saved another TV from the DUMP!
