    Re: 32-bit vs 64-bit OS

I do a lot of video editing and also do alot with adobe after effects (now only made in 64bit version).
After effects is night and day on 32b vs 64b.
To me a 64bit os seems all around faster.

After effects start up time on xp 32b is about 45sec.
On 64 bit with 8gb ram, opens in under 10 sec.

64 for me all the way just because the programs I use run way better.

64 for me when I have a compatible CPU and I don't need x32 for a program (x64 windows can't run 16 bit code). In my case, only two systems can do x64, and one has a TV tuner that won't do Xp x64 (IIRC).
