I bought a Ring Doorbell 2 during Black Friday sale for my drive way but there is no wall outlet near unless I drill a hole in wall
So I did a google search and found they have a non vendor solar panel and a battery pack but the reviews all said the same thing about about the solar panel connector going to the battery pack that it is easily broken because it is made on plastic circuit board which is very thin the battery pack is a hole another story in it self
The batteries are a non brand battery that I have never heard of but the battery case was done very nice in that the circuit board snapped into place and the battery connector also snapped into place the down fall was that this connector was also made with plastic circuit board
So here is where the hack comes in play I remove the batteries from the battery case and ran the wires to the outside of the case and ran the solar panel wires in side the battery pack case
I took the the plastic circuit board from the solar panel plastic circuit board which went to a very small regulator circuit board which has a diode which I put in the battery pack case as well
Once I made sure that the solar panel worked the protection board and would change the batteries and the USB charging cable would charge the batteries and that the Ring Doorbell 2 unit worked I hot glued the battery pack case back together with plenty of hot glue and made it weight almost as much as it did before I took it apart
Now I have to find a waterproof 18650 battery pack case
Does anyone know where I can find a two cell case I can find a 4 or a 6 cell case but not a 2 cell one unless I want to use a 2 cell 26650 battery cell pack case which would rather not do unless I have too
I will show a couple of pictures later on today unfortunately I did not take pictures of the inside of the battery pack case but I do have another battery pack that I going modified as well and when I do this one I will show pictures of it
