    Vizio M65-C1

    I just picked up a Vizio M65-C1 yesterday. This is my first thread. I searched Bad Caps for a thread on this model but did not find anything so I thought I would start one. The issue is voltages are fluctuating on the power supply board. I will attach pics. When I check the voltage levels at the main plug for the video board. I am supposed to have a steady 3-5 volts for standby and 12 volts for the other location. What my Fluke 115 is reading in DC is a constant changing from 2,3,5,7,9,11 and then back to 2,3,4,7,9,11. When I unplug the power supply cables to the video board I get a steady reading of 19.25 volts on the pins that are supposed to be 12 volts. Also I noticed the 3 large caps at the bottom of the board after leaving the board unplugged for several hours I came back and checked it and was getting around 127 volts which I was surprised in that amount of time I would still see the caps that high. I know they store voltage but I thought after 5 -10 mins it would be very low. Is that normal? Also on the main board has a flashing led light. Thank you for any and all help with this issue.

      I found a shorted Mosfet and i need to order a new one, But I Can not find the part on Digi Key to order a new one.
      I believe it part #K20A20D
      Manufacture Toshiba.

      Does any one know what the part number I should be using any help would be greatly appreciated.
      Mosfet was removed from Q9111 on board.

        So that MOSFET Q911 has low resistance between Source and Drain pin?
        Can you read the P/N of the IC U911 which drives that Q911?
        It looks like Q911 is used for Synchronous rectifier.
        Did you Email DIGIKEY to see if they have a sub for it?
        K20A20D MOSFET, otherwsie you will have to put in the parameters (I.E. Rds, Vth, VDSS, Id, case style, etc.) of K20A20D into the DIGIKEY search box for N-CHANNEL MOSFET.

          On my fluke 115 I put it into diode mode and place black lead on drain and red lead on source and I am getting a reading of .008 and also the beep sound.

          Here are pics I took of IC U911 sorry they are not clearer I used my microscope to get as good a pic as possible this chip is really hard to read. I hope you can make out enough info from them. I don't know why my pics rotated 90.

          I have not emailed digi-key but will do that. And thank you for the info on how to narrow my perameters to find the right mosfet.

          It looks like Q911 is used for Synchronous rectifier. You are talking way above me. I could not tell a synchronous rectifier from an eeprom chip LOL. Some day I hope to be as good as you. Your my hero!!

            I have this same tv ''m65-c1" with the same exact problems, 19v where should be 12.
            Any resolve to this? Would love to get this tv going.

              (2) k13a50d q9202-q9201
              (1) k11a65d q9101

              wonder if that could be the issue.

              either way, just checking for someone that knows.

              any slight hint of what else to check would help thanks.

                  No I never did figure out the problem.
                  I still have a tv waiting to find a cheap replacement power supply board for sale. If anyone figures out what competent is the issue please post it so we can know thanks.

                      If Q9111 is shorted you may also have a bad IC9111 (SP6018E), check resistors R9126 (10Ω) and also R9125 (4.7Ω) both are 0.25w

                        If you guys are not equipped for testing, try to get another powerboard. HIGH DEADLY VOLTAGE on the hot side, study up and proceed with caution.
