    Xytronic LF-389D capacitor quality

    Hello!

Some time ago I got myself a new soldering station as I was planning to start doing some more soldering. This soldering station is mains powered so is probably not the best but it seems miles better than my old cheap one. I have not really been using it much, but I read that the Xytronic stations have bad caps so i decided to open it up.

So as far as I can see there are only 2 caps:

    VLSOM 470 uF 25V
    STONE 100 uF 25V

So the question is if I should replace them with something better? If so what would you recommend? I can get Rubycon and Panasonic quite easily. See the attached pics for more info.

    Any input is appreciated!

    Edit:

Realized that I might have posted in the wrong sub-forum.

I would go with replacing these units with something better; even though my preferred brand of electrolytic capacitor is Chemi-Con, Rubycon and Panasonic are just as good.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.
