820-4924 Green / orange light but won't charge

Working on an 820-4924 board. No signs of liquid damage. If try to turn on with battery connected screen will flash battery low symbol then shut off. Nothing with AC only. However, magsafe board does light up green then switches to orange, regardless of whether battery is connected or just logic board.
    Measurements:
    PPBUS Pin 1 F7140 = 12.66V
    PP3V42 L7095 = 3.44V
    Adapter Sense Pin 5 and OneWire Pin 4 U7000 = 3.3V
    PPBUS_G3H Pin 1 R7005 = 12.66V

    Suggestions?

Remove battery, apply adapter and then check D7005.

Do you see voltage on common cathode (pin #3) of D7005?

Voltage reading? Do you see a stable 3v42 with only the adapter?

      D7005 pin 3 = 16.16V stable

all readings taken with AC power only.

        1) Remove the battery.

        2) Attach the external power adapter

        3) Check the voltage on F7140, pin # 2 (PPBUS_G3H). Suspecting this rail to be not working / incorrect value. Voltage reading ?

This rail is created by U7100 and supporting parts.

        4) Post the voltage reading @ PPDCIN_G3H, Q7180, pin 1 & 2.

        5) Post the voltage reading @ D7105, pin 3; also R7105 pin 2.

        6) Post the voltage reading @R7186, pin 1 - to confirm if the MOSFET GATE voltage (Q7180) is ok.

        7) Voltage on R7181, pin 1.

        8) Voltage @ Q7130, pin 2

All these checks are from sheet # 52/78 of the PDF schematics.

Always make sure the correct AC adapter was used with the machine. Genuine original AC adapter of the correct brand and correct power rating. Even if the connector is correct, it doesn't mean it will work and it can even damage the machine.

Nevermind, I'm an idiot. The issue was bad battery plus dodgy magsafe board. Thanks for the tips folks.

@EasyTech_it, yes it should. The battery is not required to boot with an external power adapter for the macbook. If you are facing an issue, please start a fresh thread and list the details.
